A long and lasting process involved you and I.
So, it is nice to have you keep an eye.
With the surrounding environment;
and all of your compliments;
I will always make a moral decision;
When facing any complications;
To satisfy my need of self-actualization.

thought 6... communication
Having this blog assignment is an effective way to learn about the subject and also it enhances my writing skills. Basically, we have a blog entry after we have a class activity, so it helps me understand the subject more because I actually think about it. Usually, we learn in class, and study on our selves for tests; there is not much time to think about what we actually learn. Indeed, I am not a fast learner, I can't pick up a concept in a matter of second. But it takes time for me to understand a concept, then apply. So, having this blog assignment actually help me go through the process of thinking.
This assignment also bring myself together with other classmates. Since everyone has a different perspective, it is fun to read what others think about the same activities that ourselves been through. In fact, we learn from each other (their way of thinking).
But as a matter of fact, I found replying to a blog could be a difficult task. It is not because I don't fully understand what one is talking about, but because what he or she wrote is perfectly structure, I just don't know what to add on top of it. (So, I choose to reply to other blogs, lol~)
To professor's blog, I think it is pretty interesting to read, because it keeps me "THINKING", which I don't do often. The "thinking" that I referring to is the "thinking" that related to the life lessons, about the society that we are living in. Since college, I don't read much on my own, but text book. So, reading something that I can reflect on and think about, it is interesting.
Up until now, I would say, I will keep this blog,and maybe once in a while, I'll write something. Something that I am "thinking" about...

~**McDonald**~
We went into the McDonald at 28th street, which is few blocks away from Baruch College, as a group of five people. We ordered 5 burgers with four pickles and 5 French fries with no salts. The process of ordering is a headache, and I felt guilt at times.
We walked in to McDonald, and a lady takes care of us. We ordered the assigned orders, and we said "four pickles," and "no salt", with an extra volume, just to make her understand. Indeed, she did look at us weirdly. But, she did process our order. Then, regarding to the receipts, there was a misunderstanding. We thought she said that we will have separated receipts with individual orders, but she thought we said we can have one receipts with all orders. So, the lady was really angry, and she argued it was not her fault. As a result, she reported to the manager about our problem regarding to separating the receipts. As a matter of fact, the manager was kindly handwriting our orders on the paper.
On the other hand, the lady who took care of us yelled to the back in Spanish and said four pickles on each of the five burgers. Also, the fries were also made on the side. In fact, there were three people in total who involved in this ordering process, one is the cashier who take care of us, and also made the fires; two, is the person at the back making the burger; third, is the manager who have to rewrite our order on paper. The order did not take so long but having the receipts on hand took pretty long, about 15-20 minutes in total, from ordering to having our order on hand, then having our receipts handwritten and stabled by the manager.
I don't like the attitude of that lady, the cashier, because although she might be pissed due to any reason, but she should not show her anger to the customers. On the other hand, I felt guilt to make the manager handwritten our receipts. If I have to rate this McDonald by using a scale of 1-10, one as the lowest and 10 as the highest, I'll rate this McDonald a 5. There was communication between processing the orders, but the representatives does not have the people skill to deal with the customers when things go wrong. However, the manager shows more care toward the issue, so I rate the 28th street McDonald a 5.
If I were a consultant to help improve the efficiency of the McDonald when dealing the special orders, I would introduce a typing board on the touch screen of the ordering machine. So, instead of choosing from the options, the representatives have the option of typing the exact wants of the customers, to make it easy to understand, and with limited errors. Also, training employees to deal with customers when things go wrong is also the key to improve the customers' relationship with the business.
In conclude the order complete correctly with four pickles on a burger, and French fries with no salt. But I don't think this McDonald experience because I believe since I am the one who pays for what I want, within the case of money is not a matter, I should deserve to have what I want without receiving any attitude.

thought 5... DISC
I am a S high C...
S: Emphasis on cooperating with others to carry out the task.
C: Emphasis is on working conscientiously within existing circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy.
I believe this test in somewhat true. It shows a large part my personality, which are demonstrating patience, developing specialized skills (currently developing), desiring to help others, and being a good listener from "S: Steadiness". Also, thinking analytically, weighing pros and cons, and using a systematic approach to situations or activities from "C: Conscientiousness". Indeed, there are parts of me which is "I: influence", and I hope that I can be a bit more "D: dominance". Making a quick decisions is difficult for me, because usually I have to go through a process of pros and cons, then decide.
I believe I can be more influence if I master the English language. Without mastering a language, it is difficult to persuade others by using the relevant vocabulary. Additionally, determining people's "type" help company have a general idea of an individual. However, the result does not represent one as a whole, because I believe one at least have two sides, depending on who we facing and associating with, we show a different side.
I don't think this type of test will help me in other personal interaction, but help me know my self better. Generally speaking, everyone is different, a test can't determine us in all aspect, but present parts of us in general. (because, we are all unique in our own way! )Therefore, tests can't determine us, but test is part of us.

thought 4... vision
Vision without an action is just a dream.
Action without vision merely a dream
Vision coupled wit action can make things happen!~
The three visions that I have...
1. I will keep going and obtain a MBA after I graduate.
2. Go to Japan
3. Having my own business
MY ACTION PLAN:
1. There are requirements in GPA, and GMAT score, so I am studying hard to obtain the GPA. And on the other hand, studying GMAT on my own. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! lolz
2. I want to go to Japan, either to take some classes during the Winter break in next fall or for vacation just to have fun. So, I have to save money by working!~
3. I am studying accounting, I would like to have my own firm. My plan is first to graduated, then work in an accounting firm for couple years. After I have the experience, I would like to have my own firm. Indeed, everything that I learn now is helping me to achieved this vision. Moreover, I am trying to obtain an internship currently.
I am taking action toward these visions!!!!

thought 3... Midterm 1!
On Monday, 10/20/08, we got our first grade back for Management. The class average is 68. Although I did not get the grade that I expected, but at least, I did not do too badly. Then, the professor announced if we can come up with a plan for this exam and the next one in a reasonable matter, and has 100% agreement by the end of the class time, he will do what we propose. Then, the chaos started... with the large class that we have like the management class, to have 100% agreement is not easy.
There are five ways to handle conflicts, such as compete to win, avoidance, compromise, accommodation and collaborating. I would say that I am handle the conflict by accommodation through communicating with my neighbors about what we can do; however, everyone has their own concern, and their weakness, so the disagreement build up, and frustration build up too. As a matter of fact, I have couple minutes of avoidance which is just looking at the crow and sit quietly. But at the end, some people stand up and take charges, then, and I once again see the light, and I engage to the process by agreeing or disagreeing to the proposal that comes up by raising my hand. If there is a second time, I would be accommodating fully, with no second thought.
Anyhow, at the end, we have 100% agreement of drop one lowest exam with the two midterms, and curve the first exam, and for the next exam for the multiple-multiple choice, professor have to tell us how many correct answers are there within a question of five choices.
And the day ends...

thought 2... the egg activity
There are five steps in the planning process.
1. Define your goals and objectives
2. Determine your resource and current status objectives
3. Develop several alternative strategies
4. Make a tactical plan
5. Implement the plan and evaluate results
Base on the activities that we have with the "EGG", I would give our team from the scale of 1-10, and 10 as the highest, a 9.
1. Since the beginning of the activities, our team know our goal and objectives, is to drop the egg with protection of 8 straws and some tape, and the goal is to protect the egg without breaking the egg after dropping from high.
2. The resource is defined: an egg, 8 straws, some tape, and one scissor pass around the class. In fact, our current status and objectives are set. Our group strength is to work as a team. Everyone plays their own parts in participating.
3. We all give in our ideas of what we think, and choose from the best plan, or build on top of the best plan, to make it more firm to achieve our goal and objectives.
4. Then, we decide our role in the team. I am responsible for getting the scissor, Julien responsible for dropping the egg. But in the mean time, Julien and I rip the tape, So and Wen placed the straws and trape the straws. Then, Jason constructs the straws with trap with the egg.
5. The plan goes well; we follow the guideline and showing 50% of the egg, while building the construction around it.
However, when the egg drop from high, it leaks a bit when it hit the trash can. Overall, I believe our team works together and share our thoughts together, I giveour team a 9. If there is anything that our team has to work more upon, I should say we should think out of the box more, instead of being limit, but try to figure out what is the limit.
