Time Management is one of my management problems. There are 24 hours a day, and seven days a week, excludes the times for sleeping and showering, and throw myself to bed, i should have 12 hours a day. Within the twelve hours time slot, I have to travel between school and home, 2 hours. Within 10 hours, i have classes, and I have 5 hours of classes averagely during the week days. Then, I left with 5 houts to do my homework, social with friends, and help my family. In fact, 5 hours is not enough at all. Therefore, sometimes, within th e12 hours range of sleeping, showering, and throw myself to bed, it will decrease to 10 or sometimes 8 hours. I do not have issue with working because I am currently unemploye; base on the fact that I know it is difficult to manage six classes. Many times, I found myself staring at the screen without knowing whatto do, or reading the textbook without understanding th ematerials, that's the time when I found most difficult to focuus and keep going. In fact, occasional interlude is difficult to preclude. So, following a schedule is not easy. So the question is how can I plan my schedule in an efficient way which I can follow?

I know exactly what you mean. As much as I love sleep, I just feel like there’s not enough time in the world for me to sleep. It’s like the saying “If you don’t get a handle of time, time will take charge of you.” This is a philosophy I tend to refer to often and in the end, I tend to just stop thinking about the little time we have and do what I can with the time I do have. I think that many people feel the same way as you do. But, all we can really do is deal with it.
I think that if you want to get a hold of doing the things you like alongside school work and other things, you will have to manage how to divide it up. For instance, you can do homework for one subject, and then take a few minutes or half an hour break. No longer then that though. Then go back to homework or whatever else it is you need to do and take another break if necessary. This way you don’t feel overloaded with work and tired of sticking to homework all day long. It helps you absorb information better and relax your mind at the same time. I also recommend that you don’t watch movies, series, or anything that will cause an addiction to last over half an hour because that will defeat the purpose of the break. I hope what I said helps. Good luck and see you in class.
I completely understand your reasoning. I still remember a lecture I had in my Freshmen Seminar class when the instructors gave out to everyone 168 "fake dollars" which represented 168 hours in a week (24x7)and our assignment was to manage money wisely. The purpose of that exercise was to show that we do have extra hours in a day, and it only seems that we don't because we all have time management problems. I tried to plan out my day hour by hour; unfortunately, what worked in the freshmen year does not apply to the amount of responsibilities we have today.
I went through a lot of people's blog and I see that a lot of people are went through the similar management problem as you do. Personally, I also face the same problem of not having enough time and having difficulty to manage my time schedule. As you point out in your blog, travel between school and home already take us 2 hours, and then school average take up 5 hrs a day, we really don't have much time left in a day. But you are much luckier than me that you still have 8 hrs a day to sleep, I would say that I would be satisfy if I have 6 hrs to sleep a day. I hope that the school load can be decrease as the semester go on. Good luck in all your classes!
I have the same problem as u too. This is the managing problem that effect us the most, and the problem that is the most difficult to solve. There are always a lot of thing that I have to do, but I don't have the time to do. But it's good that you don't have to work now. That will makes you to have a little bit more time to do your personal things. Not like me, I have work and school. That means, I don't have as much free time as you have. I hope that we can both solve the problem in a short period, so we can have more time to deal with.
Yes, I know it is hard to manage our time. The time always seems not enough for us to complete our task. We always wonder that everyone should have the same time for their days, but why some people looks like they have enough time to finish things up and we don’t. I guess make a plan for a day really helps us to get things done, maybe you can try your best to follow your plans and maybe time management will not be a problem to you anymore. Hope you can solve this problem and still have enough time to do other activities. Good Luck~
